Citric Acid Anhydrous

Citric acid is a commonly used chemical in drilling fluid pH reduction and treatment of cement contamination. It also acts as a stabilizer for polymers and is a key raw material in ion chelation. 414 Solution is one of the largest importers of citric acid.

Gluconic Acid

Gluconic acid is an organic compound formula C6H12O7. It is aqueous solution at 50% active in water of pH between 1.5-2.5. The gluconic acid forms the gluconate ion. The chemical structure of gluconic acid consists of a six-carbon chain, with five hydroxyl groups positioned in the same way as in the open-chained form of glucose, terminating in a carboxylic acid group. In aqueous solution, gluconic acid exists in equilibrium with the cyclic ester glucono delta-lactone. The gluconic acid is produced by using Fermentation process of Glucose.

It is commonly used as a food additive, primarily as a sour-tasting, acidulant and flavor enhancer in a variety of food products. Gluconic acid act as a tenderizer and dough conditioner in baking applications, as well as a pH regulator and preservative in processed foods.

In addition to its food application in Metal treatment, oil well drilling and completion fuids.

citric acid

Citric acid is a versatile chemical used in various industrial applications, particularly in metal treatment. It helps to lower the pH of drilling fluids, ensuring their effectiveness and longevity. Additionally, it is used to remove cement contamination from drilling equipment and wellbores, preventing damage and extending the lifespan of drilling systems. Moreover, citric acid acts as a stabilizer for polymers, helping to maintain their integrity and performance. Finally, it is a key ingredient in ion chelation processes, which remove heavy metals and other impurities from metal surfaces

Product Overview

Citric Acid is an anhydrous, medium to fine white crystal product with a specific gravity of 1.542. The heavy metal content in this product is less than 100 ppm. Its solubility in water at 68°F is 169 g/100 mL.

Product Benefits

Citric Acid offers several advantages over other acids, making it a versatile and effective product for various industrial applications. It is readily available ex-stock in Houston and is considered safer to handle than HCL. The acid reduces pH levels, removes calcium in pre-treatment processes, and is of Indian origin. Additionally, it sequesters soluble iron to prevent polymer crosslinking and is less reactive and safer than other acids. The product is safe to handle at drilling rigs and is suitable for use in cementing and drilling, as well as ion chelation processes.

Environmental Considerations

Citric Acid is an environmentally friendly product, making it a responsible choice for industrial applications.

Packaging and Shelf Life

The product is packaged in 50 Lb/25 Kg bags and 2200 pounds on pallets. The shelf life of Citric Acid is 3 years from the date of manufacturing.
This product is an excellent choice for those looking for a multi-functional and safe acid for use in drilling, cementing and ion chelation processes.
